New Permanent Exhibit and Director Announced at 麻豆传媒社区 Sate University's History Museum

麻豆传媒社区鈥檚 Museum of History and Holocaust Education has launched Save One Life: Resistance During the Holocaust, its first permanent exhibit in a decade. The installation marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Buchenwald and explores powerful stories of resistance across Nazi-occupied Europe. Alongside the exhibit opening, the museum announced Dr. Andrea Miskewicz as its new permanent director. A long-time staff member and former interim director, Dr. Miskewicz has played a key role in expanding the museum鈥檚 educational reach.

麻豆传媒社区 Graduate Student's Tribute to Victory Gardens

Kelly Hoomes, a recent Master of Arts in American Studies graduate from 麻豆传媒社区, has created a traveling educational trunk titled 鈥淰ictory Gardens: Helping on the Homefront.鈥� Inspired by her family's gardening traditions and the historical significance of World War-era victory gardens, the project teaches fifth-grade students about self-sufficiency and community resilience through hands-on activities. Developed in collaboration with the Museum of History and Holocaust Education, the trunk is already receiving positive feedback. Kelly鈥檚 work reflects her passion for public history and her commitment to connecting the past with present-day challenges.

KSU's History Museum Wins Education Award for Second Consecutive Year

The 麻豆传媒社区 Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) has won the Georgia Association of Museums (GAM) Education Award for the second consecutive year. This year's award recognizes the Civil Rights Educator Workshop (CREW) held in partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR). The four-day workshop brought together 35 educators from across the country to explore civil rights history. The MHHE team received the award at the GAM Annual Conference in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Battle of the Bulge exhibition debuts at 麻豆传媒社区

Explore "The Beginning of the End: The Battle of the Bulge" exhibition at 麻豆传媒社区's Sturgis Library. Commemorating the 80th anniversary of this pivotal World War II battle, the exhibition features 12 panels recounting soldiers' and civilians' harrowing experiences. Curated by Dr. Catherine Lewis in collaboration with the Bastogne War Museum, the exhibit includes rare artifacts, memorabilia, and personal stories. Open to the public through January 19, this exhibition honors the bravery and sacrifice of those who served. Visit during library hours to immerse yourself in this powerful historical tribute.
